I got a call at 7:30 am this morning that my chicks arrived at the Luling Post Office. These are the Ameraucana and Ayam Cemani chicks that I bought from Charmaine Conroy at Northwoods Poultry in Wisconsin. As you can see from the video, all of the chicks arrived happy and healthy (albeit a bit weary from the trip)!

It turns out that Charmaine sent 10 Ayam Cemanis and 5 Ameraucanas. All of the Ameraucanas are of the blue variety, with the exception of one straw-colored chick. Charmaine told me that that is a Splash Ameraucana (i.e., a cross between a Black Ameraucana roo and a Blue Ameraucana hen), which apparently is pretty rare!

I couldn't be happier with the chicks I received -- thanks again, Charmaine!!

It's only the second week with my baby chicks and you can already see how much they've grown. They are also testing out their wings, and one little chick actually made it to the top of the brooder box!
